DENVER, (November 16, 2015) — FIT36®, a new concept in fitness training, opened a new location on November 16th in the Denver Tech Center, 8000 E. Belleview Ave, Suite B80 in Greenwood Village. Developed by Denver-based WellBiz Brands, the FIT36 franchise is a 36-minute, high intensity interval training (HIIT) workout that burns calories faster than other popular workouts, while building strength, athleticism and stamina. Its three principals, all former sports pros and military special ops, were immediately drawn to the fast-paced, efficient and intense modern workout.
“For me, it was shock and awe at how much fun working out can be,” says Jen Holdren, a former competitor for the United States’ premier beach volleyball tour, the Association of Volleyball Professionals, or AVP. Holdren has also been working with WellBiz Brands, one of the largest health and wellness franchise organizations in the U.S., to help set up the FIT36® concept and will work as the general manager at the new studio. The Co-owners are Steve Cronin, an American soccer pro who most recently played for D.C. United of Major League Soccer, and Abe Dispennette, an ex-Army officer who served in special operations. All three were looking for new ways to be challenged physically and all three found nirvana with FIT36®.
“Abe and I work together in the insurance industry, and we were both interested in starting some form of HIIT fitness training studio,” says Steve Cronin. “Jen told us about FIT36®, we tried it and got really excited. There’s no waste in this workout. Before you know it, you are done.”
FIT36® is done in two, small groups of up to 12 people for a total of 24 clients per session. Clients are outfitted with a heart rate training system to monitor their efforts as they progress through 12 different stations, completing each station twice. Experienced personal trainers are there to motivate and correct clients as they go through the 12 circuits, each circuit involving 60 seconds of work and 30 seconds of rest. The circuits are changed daily to alternate pushing and pulling exercises and then bi-weekly, the exercises are totally changed to keep the workout interesting and challenging. With a brief warm-up and stretch at the end, clients are typically in and out the door in 45 minutes.
To celebrate the opening of the Denver Tech Center location, the owners will be offering free trials and discounted membership rates through Friday, Nov. 27. Clients who sign up for memberships during this time can continue with the discounted rate.
FIT36® is modern training for the modern athlete, incorporating everything from kettle bells, bands and monkey bars to TRX straps, free weights and rowers. Clients use movements they never thought existed. At the same time, the movements are self-limiting and resistance-focused to push each member to the max in a safe and efficient way.
“We don’t make you do what you can’t,” adds Holdren. “We make you better at what you want to do.”
FIT36® classes are high-energy with motivating music, encouraging trainers and like-minded participants. A FIT36 member is not just a gym-goer. He or she is passionate about working out and sharing it with others who have the same passion. The group setting acts as a motivator and the drives competitive spirit.
“Our members push one another,” says Dispennette. “They congratulate each other after each workout. It’s like a rite of passage. You have a real appreciation for the people you HIIT with.”
FIT36® is open seven days a week with group classes starting every hour. The studio can handle 24 clients per hour. Individuals are encouraged to sign up online or in person. For more information regarding memberships, visit http://fit36fitness.com/denver-tech-center/ or call 720-501-4995.
